In its Recommendation for use, the National Vaccination Panel has explicitly recommended Corona vaccination for children from the completed 6th month of life to the completed 5th year of life with an increased risk of severe disease progression of COVID-19.
In accordance with the approval, vaccination may also be offered to young children with no previous illness, taking into account their personal situation as well as their individual environment (e.g., community settings).
Comprehensive advice
Please consult with your trusted pediatrician regarding any questions that may arise regarding Corona immunization for infants. When you make an immunization appointment for your child, an additional educational consultation will be conducted on-site by the vaccinologist to clarify any questions that may arise.
Inoculation schedule for young children
For infants 6 months of age and older and up to age 5, the first two vaccinations are given three weeks apart. The third vaccination is recommended no earlier than eight weeks after the second vaccination.

Infant Vaccine
For children from the completed 6th month of life to the completed 5th year of life, there is now a special infant formulation of the vaccine Comirnaty from BioNTech/Pfizer. This uses a 3-dose schedule.
